Wining And Dining In Canberra

Canberra Festival The festival is held every March to celebrate the founding of the city. Events include:- hot air ballooning, unique art and craft exhibitions, classical modern theatre, dance performances, spectacular musical productions, jazz and rock concerts, and lots more.

National Gallery of Australia Has the finest art collection and hosts exhibitions from around the world. With over 100,000 impressive pieces of priceless art it's one of Australia's most highly regarded tourist attractions. It's easy to spend a day meandering through this excellent gallery - definitely a must see.

Old Parliament House The previous home of national politics, now offers guided tours of its historical chambers. Hanging within are portraits of famous Australians in the National Portrait Gallery.

Canberra Railway Museum Relax at the Museum while you experience the golden age of railways. Open Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays 1 to 4 pm, except Christmas and Boxing Days. BBQ facilities are available at no charge. Where: Geijera Place, at the end of Cunningham St, in Kingston, close to Canberra Railway Station.

National Botanic Gardens Located on the slopes of Black Mountain, the National Botanic Gardens covers 50 hectares that focus on over 6000 species of native flora. The misted rainforest is a highlight, there is a walk among medicinal plants used by the Aborigines, there are guided tours and the eucalypt forest numbers over 600 species.
